Good evening everyone I signed up for TT early last year and on the whole the service has been average. However, the modem I bought from them has recently ceased to be and is now defunct. Dont know what happened it, but its dead. Anyway I bought a 2wire 1800 modem online which I did my best to install but I cannot get back online. The 2wire modem did not come with an installation disc but I thought I had it fully installed when I got three green lights on the front of the modem. It just will not let me get on line though. Talk talk dont want to know as I didn't buy the modem from them. The 2wire 1800 is a modem and wireless router as I was hoping to make my surfing wireless to remove my two small kids from the staying connected equation as they love tugging on cables. The message I keep getting is "unable to contact the configuration server". My knowledge of computers is quite limited, but can anyone advise what I am doing wrong or where I should go from here? Many thanks for reading

Hi there, I'd like to advise you with what I would do now with regard to this problem of yours. My motive would be simply to get my access back and working AND be eligible for support.
I would disconnect the new modem and either keep it "just-in-case" or Ebay it. At the same time, I would buy the HUAWEI wireless modem from TalkTalk, use their installation CD and be eligible for support on their free support phone number if I need help. The truth is, the modem would come already configured for you.
I have this modem from TT and it is absolutely excellent. HUAWEI is a massive Asian firm (68000 employees) and they even have their own members forum where you can get help. For my part, it worked instantly and I did not have to make any alteration to the setup
Hope that helps
