Have printers gone backwards?
      #392562 - Thu Apr 24 2008 02:47 PM

The best printer I have ever owned was an Epson C42plus. I had a 3mp Fuji camera and the photos I printed off were absolutely brilliant. I used to do all my neighbours & relatives photos for their passports etc. I now have an 8mp camera and two top of the range all-in-one printers. I have tried to print off decent photos but not one has come out as good as my old Epson C42plus
Can anyone suggest a way to get back to printing good pictures again?

If you think an Epson C42plus is a good printer, you certainly haven't tried any in their 'photographic' printers range.

If your priority is to print photographs to a good, reasonable or even a semi professional standard, use the correct dedicated photographic printer in your budget.

Hi there fusion, I understand what you are saying but what I'm trying to get across is my old Epson C42plus did excellent photographs using a 3mp camera which was acceptable to the Passport Office when buying a passport. Nowadays with an 8mp camera they are not.

If you were to use your new, higher spec camera with your old printer, I would suggest you would also get similar results to original ones. At least ones that you are happy with.

It would seem the only difference in what you are doing is the 'All in ones'. That should tell you something!
