Windows Mail queries
      #392558 - Thu Apr 24 2008 01:41 PM

Hi guys,

Just got new computer with Vista and trying to transfer OE contacts. I have used the Export/import route which does the job but in OE I had set up a number of sub-folders to put particular addresses, eg Family, Trade, Hobbies etc. When using Exp/Imp it ignores the folders and lumps them all in. I'd prefer to split them into groups so it's more manageable. I can see I can set up folders in Win Mail but not an easy way to transfer the old ones from OE, short of doing it one at a time once whole lot transferred. Any help appreciated.

Also, from previous threads, it looks like the 'complete email addresses when typing' doesn't come from contacts but the most recently used. That seems daft!

If there are issues with Win Mail, are there any other mail programs (freebies!) that are deemed preferable?

Thanks

Thunderbird every time. It's got all the stuff that Microsoft forgot to include in Windows Mail along with a whole lot of improvements.
