Windows Vista comes with 'Windows Live Mail', previously 'Windows Mail' and which is the successor to Outlook Express.
You cannot install Outlook Express on a Vista machine.

Windows Mail is preinstalled on Vista and is the successor to Outlook Express.

Additionally, Windows Live Mail can be downloaded for XP or Vista. It allows multiple email accounts in one package, e.g. your ISP mail and Hotmail.

In theory this is a good idea. However, to me the biggest drawback is that the Contacts (mail recipients) are merged into one file, so if you have mail accounts for specific purposes, you will have to set up a convoluted grouping system. The grouping was too labour-intensive for me to do so I have stuck with my years-old multi-systems. I also found that there is a lot of messing around if you use different signatures for different accounts.

If you want to import your account details, mail boxes and contacts from Outlook Express, here is the whole Import/Export procedure http://www.vista4beginners.com/Migrate-from-Outlook-Express-to-Windows-Mail
