Hi all. I own a toshiba tecra a8 which i purchased in the UK (it runs on windows xp) I now live in Oz and went to watch a dvd that I had purchased here in Oz and my computer is telling me I am logged into region 2 if I would like to change my region to 4 in order to watch this film. What has blown me away is that I that I only have a limited amount of times I can do this. Is this normal? I have been travelling for years and have dvds from all over the place! Is there any way around this or am I stuck watching dvds from only one region? I'm completely gob-smacked
Click on the DVD/CD Drive > Double click your device > DVD Region > Scroll down to Australia > OK
You have a limited amount of changes in this option as you know already, to supposedly prevent piracy. This is normal.
There are programs available to change this to have unlimited amounts, but it's not for me to advise.
'-'DVD's are preferable but I don't think you are limited to those. It's the receiving 'player' that sometimes has problems playing '+' DVD's in my experience.
DVD players on all PCs are hardware limited to 5 region changes only. The software that claims to give you unlimited region changes tends to screw the whole drive up.

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
