Hello,
I am having a web site built which is nearly ready but recently certain items on the pages, i.e. button links and positions of certain items appear not as they should in AOL and Internet Explorer browsers although ok in firefox. Also updates to the site are taking a long time to appear on my PC. I have been to see my Web Build man but things are showing ok on his PC in firefox and internet explorer (he doesn't have AOL). I can only assume it is something with my browsers and or PC settings. I have tried reducing my resolution from highest (32 bit)1280 x 1024 to 1152 x 864 but nothing doing. Any ideas?

rather than using html alignments try using css with top/left percentage values.

Thanks for your reply, but I think it may be something wrong with my PC or browsers as my web man is also using IE and everything is OK at his end. Quite a few things are happening with things displaying differently or not displaying at all?
Its a worrying time as I am at the time when I am supposed to be checking the site for specification requirements and errors before final payment.
Any further advice would be welcome.

Latest Update,
Found that I had used Ctrl & Scroll in the past making things bigger after upping my screen resolution. I have now put back as before but although this solved one item on my site which now displays OK, there are others still displaying incorrectly in AOL and IE browsers. but does show correct in firefox.
A friend also tried it on a Mac and reported that the site is displaying far far to big.

Would it be possible for a few of you to have a look at my site in different browsers and report back on a the display problems I am seeing in AOL and IE (OK in firefox) The site is not quite finished yet and is currently at a temporary address: Note - it does show OK in my site builders IE?

Home Page- The top three banner text underneath should display central under the banners, but in mine it is displaying to the left of the banners?
Category list should display numbers of ads in each category at the end of each category. Mine displays underneath each category on a separate line?
Accessing ads by clicking the green button 'Take Me To Classified Ads in' The resulting ads should display each ad heading and the ad description central in the field, mine displays the ad heading at the top of this field and the ad description at the bottom of the same field?
And place banner ad text on blue bar to the left of the ad pages should be central on the bar, mine is displaying right at the bottom of the bar and if accessing ads via the categories, the text has completely moved of the bar which I can only see if I put my cursor just below the bar as it is white text on white background.
Your reports will be gratefully received.

I never got past the home page, but I hope you never paid for this! Even on a large screen I still had to scroll sideways. If it's mean't to be a commercial site it looks very amateurish I'm afraid.
The text is centered under the pictures as they are supposed to be but the page is miles too wide. I'm sorry, but I would definately not linger on a site where I have to constantly scroll sideways.
I'm using IE7 to view it.

Following your kind response some changes have now been made. Would it be possible to check again at and report back detailing:
Screen resolution
Screen size (17”, etc and whether widescreen or not)
Whether the browser text size is medium (or smaller/larger etc)

Your interest and time is much appreciated.

Have just checked your site using IE 7 and widescreen laptop, everything as it should be. Tried several of the categories, all OK

Thanks Whizwrinkly,
There appears to be differences between viewing the site with the same browser type on different PCs as it display incorrectly on my AOL browser but ok on a friends AOL browser although other sites display ok as they should on mine. It does display Ok in Firefox though, weird?
But your feedback is great as it gives me something to go on rather than just wondering if it is my browser that is wrong or incorrect settings somewhere.
Thanks again.
