My website has been hijacked by a pop-up
      #391843 - Thu Apr 17 2008 11:23 AM

Friends, it is a long time since I posted here because everything has been working great!

Unfortunately my business website has had some sort of hijack and now whenever a potential customer opens the home page a casino or watches or online poker pops-up!

Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

Not looking for a permanent fix because if I can find out how to, then I can remedy the situation as and when.

TIA, Peter.

I have been studying other postings and I hope that I can alleviate the problem.

Peter.

I have tried the suggestions given on this section but there is nothing when read as "Source", any ideas?

Regards, Peter.

if your using a free host they usually embed their own adverts in your pages

Thankyou, that is something I had not thought of, very likely!

Peter.

Hi Peter

Last year i had terrible problems the same as yours and i found that the page rank widget i had from "RankWiget.com" was the cause of the problem.

By removing the Pagerank coding from the Homepage, i managed to get rid of this.

Just remember if you use a free third party code withing your homepage you are more than likely to stuffer spam and pop ups as a result.

Why do they do it??? To make money of course.

Just check it out buddy.

Gerry
