everytime the children come home and use the computer online it gets slow and hangs for a while every now and again. Here below the logfile of the registry etc. I have used ccleaner, and I used to use windows live onecare but that refuses to run nowadays. Can anyone offer any other suggestions as to what has gone wrong? Many thanks in advance. J

Welcome to the Webuser forum.
Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
- Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
- Close any open browsers.
- Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
- Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
- Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
- Close any open browsers.
- WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
- Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
- If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a report for you. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Bricat, Thank you for your reply.
This morning when I booted up, a warning said: windows\system32\regsvr.exe is trying to gain access to the group security settings for Kaspersky.
After sorting that, I downloaded combofix and here below the results of the combofix run as requested. As you requested, I turned off Kaspersky temporarily - I am not aware of any other security running although windows popped up a warning saying that settings were attempted to be changed so I don't know what was going on there.
I was also a little confused when someone else posted on the forum a message with an identical header to my original post.
My computer sometimes takes ages to refresh the screen and then refreshes it slowly - rewriting the screen memory a line at a time. The hard drive seems to constantly be working - albeit sometimes only pulsing every half a second. Even when the machine is doing 'nothing' the hard drive coninues to 'pulse' and read/write every half a second or second.
Anyway, hope the print below means something to you.

Done - log below. Nothing found it appears. I am sorry if I am wasting your time. The PC asked for more memory earlier today. Is that significant?
