When Java downloaded some updates recently Staroffice 8 was available as a free download which I had been using on my PC. At weekend after the usual trouble causing MS updates were installed my PC wouldn't turn off so my husband did a system restore going back a couple of months. He says it isn't supposed to remove programs but it has removed my Staroffice 8. Gone - nowhere to be seen other than in a Folder on C Drive but it won't function as a program now. Just been on Suns website but it would appear you have to pay for Staroffice which was why I was so pleased when they offered a free copy with the Java updates. Any ideas where I can get it free again or even get the copy I have working again, it doesn't even show up in the list of Add/Remove programs.

Have you tried reversing the System Restore?
