When i run a chkdsk in the command prompt it tells me that windows has found problems with the file system and tells me to run CHKDSK/F to fix the problems. When i do this and check it again it tells me that i still have problems with the file system. Can anyone help?

Does the system tell you it can't lock the hard disk and it will run chkdsk at the next boot?

Have you run it on all the partitions on your hard disk? If you have and it says the errors still exist I should back up all your important data as soon as possible and get yourself a new hard disk because it sounds as if yours is about to fail.

Your choice, I say the hard disk is going to fail soon, you say it isn't. When it does, and you haven't backed up your data what will you do?
