No videos on youtube are working, it just says: 'Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player.'
I did ALL the solutions on this page: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=57669
It still isn't working. So yeah.... now what?

Go Here and try Verify Now if you don't have the correct update this will tell you.
I had the same problem and this fixed it, also I had peer guardian that was stopping ALL you tube videos.
Let me know how you get on.

Well, before you stab yourself in the eye, have you considered trying another browser? Flock maybe...

Did you use the Adobe un-installer to remove the previous version of the Flash Player? I only ask this because I have not been able to watch vids in IE7 since I downloaded the last version. At the time I never knew about Adobe`s uninstllr and I just used add/remove programs in Windows. This time I used their`s to remove the last version before downloading and installing the new one.Now the problem is fixed. What I did was this-Download and run the un-installer Reboot Download new Flash Player and install it. Reboot again Also bear in mind that IE uses the Active X player and if you use Firefox you will have to download the Flash Player plug-in again to be able to watch vids with this browser. In your program menu you should have Adobe Active X and Adobe Flash Player plug-in listed separately. Hope this helps solve your problem.

I've tryed un-installing the flash player both ways, via the downloadable un-installer and via the control panel 'Add/remove programmes' then installing the new version of Flash, still doesn't work either way.....
I've still no idea why it started doing this, it worked fine before and now it won't work no matter how many hours I sit on my arse installing and un-installing and re installing programmes and uninstall programmes and bla bla bloody bla, god I hate computers sometimes.

Hi there.
I've been having the exact same problems and in the last couple of days if I put a search in their search box it freezes for ages, it seems to be at random intervals and randomly on other web browsers.
What I have noticed though is that they seem to be updating or have updated parts of their website, the layout seems to have changed and they maybe updating their software which could be the factor in why some people are having problems with youtube and hopefully all will be sorted out soon.
Also to make sure it is not a problem with your flash player or java try going to another site and try their videos out, places like veoh and liveleak are trusted sites and if they work it will most likely be a youtube problem.

Both of those sites work fine for me, so should I be doing anything about it or is it Youtubes' problem? Youtube seems to work for everyone else, typical.

Well I've been doing some searching on this problem and I have found this:
Taken from: http://www.forum.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=22429276
Youtube have been doing some maintenance lately, changing servers and stuff. They had some details on their site about it a few days ago. Also some videos do take a while to load depending on what server the video is being fed from. Youtube have also started working with higher quality files which could also be slowing things down.
.
I've also tried reinstalling flash player and java and also turning off my firewall and it still has the same problems.
I'm not sure there is too much we can do about it, if I find any new useful information about it I'll let you know but hopefully youtube will get this problem resolved soon.

Just a quick update, I have been trying to watch a video which I haven't been able to over the last three days and then suddenly just one minute ago it starts working.
Does seem to be a problem youtubes end and not our personal pc's or any web browsers.

Ok thanks.
But the problem with me isn't videos not loading or loading slowly, there isn't even room for a blank/black box to display the video on the website, look:

Is this still youtubes problem or what? because the comments on various videos suggest Youtube is working fine for others and they are watching the videos as normal.

This is exactly the same screen I was faced with before I downloaded the latest Adobe Flash plug-in for Firefox.

I have sometimes seen that screen for about a second then the black screen pops up but of course doesn't load the video.
Thing is though, I downloaded Opera Browser yesterday and apart from a couple of the same problems the videos work fine, what is even stranger is that once I view a video on Opera the same video then works on IE7 where previously it hadn't
Goto: http://www.opera.com/download/
and download Opera Browser and see if you can view videos on that web browser.

I did that, it didn't do anything, so the link was lying basically as it said it would make it work.

It seems to work fine in Opera yeah, but the colours all look wierd and stuff, but I can put up with it just for that one website. Still don't understand why it won't work on my normal browser though.

Skip that idea, youtube videos aren't loading on Opera now either, never has a black screen with small circles going round and round annoyed me so much.
Anyway I'll let you know if I find an answer as to why a few of us are having problems.

The funny thing with me at the moment is that in IE7 if I watch a vid in You Tube, just before it comes on a message flashes up on screen that I need the latest flash player(as I described earlier). It`s there for no more than a second or so and then the video plays as normal. Also in Firefox I do not get the register/log in box on the right hand side but in IE I do!I don`t get a brief message either-it just plays without a problem. At least I seem to be one of the lucky ones,I CAN watch the videos.

Same thing here with Opera, it appears for a moment then it works fine. However Youtube still refuses to work on either IE and Firefox. So to summerize, out of the 3 browsers, it only works on Opera.
This is really wierd.

Scratch that, Opera is deciding for me what videos I should watch apparently, by opening them then not loading at all OR loading them veeeeeeeeery slowly.....
Sit there for 10 minutes waiting for something to happen then NOTHING again, 'cause obviously I have nothing better to do. I really couldn't be any more annoyed with Youtube at the moment. JUST DO YOUR JOB and play videos. It's not like I want it to make tea for me, jesus christ.
