Slow BIOS Start up
      #391235 - Sat Apr 12 2008 02:15 PM

Just recently I am having Slow Booting up problems. Run XP have 60gb free on
and 80 Gig drive. On Powering-up goes immediately to the Black and white screen
but then sits there for about 2mins and 10 secs (even if I press the DEL button)
to enter BIOS nothing happens until the above time has passed and it then enters the normal CMOS set up blue and yellow screen. After the 2min 10 sec delay PC starts up with no problem and runs perfectly normally. Very annoying sitting waiting. Have recently been using the hibernate facility on closing down.

That can often be a result of harware problems. The POST is checking the hardware before handing over to Windows.

Try testing your hard drive with the utility from the manufacturer's website.

OK OK I can't go any faster! aaaaaaaaaaaagh!
