That should be your recovery DVD which will allow you to restore your laptop to it's original factory condition. By definition that means that EVERYTHING on the hard disk of the laptop will be deleted and rolled back to the day you created that DVD. That means any software you may have installed since that day will have to be re-installed and all your data will be lost.

If you wish to continue under those conditions it should be as simple as inserting the DVD in the drive and re-booting your PC. You should get a message asking if you wish to boot from the DVD. Say yes and simply follow the instructions.

It might be worthwhile downloading all the latest drivers for your hardware and saving them somewhere before starting.

Hi driver3260

If & only if you are wanting to set back your Laptop to Acer factory default settings you could try this it works for my Acer Laptop.

Tap the Alt & F10 keys repeatedly as soon as you start your machine up, this should then ask you if you want to set it back to its original factory settings if you wish to proceed just follow the instructions given.

Once you have done this you can set up your machine like you did the 1st time you started it up - ie setting up the language/keyboard/time & date settings etc.

To make sure you have created a good set of restore discs, you will need to open the Acer E- recovery software, which is in the Acer empowering technology folder.

Here there will be a section for you to back up your machine you will need to choose the create factory restore cd/dvd(s) i used 2 x dvds if you use cd's it may ask for 5 or 6 discs - tip when you go to make these discs ensure you tick in the box where it says verify data, the discs will burn & you will be informed if they were successful or not.

If they have burned ok then thats it your back to when you pulled it out of the box.
