Hi,
I've designed a website in MS Publisher, which I've now uploaded to the internet. The page width on my screen is perfect, but I got a friend to check, and she has to scroll along to see the full page. If I change this, so she doesn't need the scroll bar, it's too small for my page, and I have a white strip down the side. I've been on MS Publisher help pages, and have seen that I can change this - but have to choose whether I'm creating it for high / low resolution screens. I don't want to have to choose, I want everyone to view it without scroll bars. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks very much, Nic

I always use a fixed width of 770 pixels, centered. This enables people still using 800x600 screen resolution to view it without scrolling (not everyone in the world has monitors as big as ours). The fixed width also lets you know how it will look in any size window.
To make it stretch and shrink to fit all size windows, size it by using 100% (percentages)instead of pixels.

standard rules of thumb for website optimization:
screen size 800x600: webpage size: 765x 550 screen size 1024x768: webpage size: 995x 680 >these are not industry standards, however in my experience offer the best results<
(oh and use of MSP ? why ? theres tonnes of free software including notepad!)
