Hi, thinking of buying MS Office home/office student edition for £80 which has word, excel powerpoint and onenote. Are these programs the full versions or lesser versions? I noticed that its £180 if i bought word or excel seperatly. why such a big difference in price? ie 4 for 80 or 1 for 180

Yes they are the full version but there are some specific restrictions that apply to the student version, not least of which is the need to prove that you are indeed a student.

according to the ms website you dont need to be a student. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/suites/HA101655301033.aspx
you cannot it use commercially, ie business, only home use.

In that case you've got yourself a bargain. The cheapest one I can find is here Note that it doesn't have Outlook in the package but if you're running Vista you've got Windows Mail anyway.
