Large problem
      #390490 - Sat Apr 05 2008 06:52 PM

I have just come back from holiday, and when i turned on the computer everthing has gone large. The Task bar and the menu bars are about twice the size they were. I have gone through all the setting that I can find but am unable to find an adjustment. I have tried the screen resolution and all the font sizes with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

That normally happens if, for some reason, the drivers for your graphics card have gone funny. Go into Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and look for your Device Manager. Choose your card and then right click and choose Properties. Go to the Driver tab and choose Roll Back Drivers.

Hi,
Thanks for that, I did as you suggested but it came back the same. It is the Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 that you were mentioning, I hope.

Can you right click somewhere on an empty part of the screen and choose Properties. Go to the Settings tab and tell me what Screen resolution it's showing, what is the maximum you can get when you move the slider to the right and what does it say in the Display box?

800 600 Highest (32bit) it has always been set to this resolution.

I have set it to 1024 768 and that has reduced the size but not as it was previously as it has made everything smaller including the desktop icons and the IE typeface size.

Regards

Going back to your original post is it ONLY the Quick Launch and System Tray at the bottom of the screen that have increased in size?

No, it's the tool bars and everything else on the desktop Icons and all the tool bars on Outlook express as well.

Have you set the DPI to normal under the display settings?
