HP Director
      #390189 - Wed Apr 02 2008 05:53 PM

Hi
I have 2 printers installed on my XP pc - an old HP5650, connected via serial cable, and a newer HP1200, connected via USB.
Recently, I have had to replace the hard drive, and have been able to reinstall both printers, however, the HP Director software will recognise the 1200, but not the 5650 - the prblem this causes is that I cannot find a way of checking ink levels - I know one of them is running out, because I have a flashing light, but don't know which one it is!
Is there another way of checking ink levels?

Thanks

Start | Control Panel | 1200/5650 | Properties | Printing Preferences.... | Color tab | Printer services | Estimated Ink Levels

Thanks, but no printer services option available on aby of the tabs!!
Is it because it's an older printer maybe - I have been able to access it before thro Director, but as I sy, not any more -it's so frustrating!

Looks like the only solution is to uninstall the newer printer and see if HP Director will recognise the older one and then check the levels. Not the ideal solution but probably the only way.
