Removing unwanted email addresses - Windows Mail
      #389974 - Mon Mar 31 2008 01:53 PM

Hi

I'm using windows mail - When creating a new email I can click in the TO box
and type in the first few letters of the email address I want.

The computer will offer me a list of possible addresses, however some of these
are incorrect or no longer needed - how can i remove these entries

Thanks

Windows Mail auto-completion doesn't use the Contacts list (address book). Instead, it uses a separate list of the last 29 addresses you sent messages to. That list is stored in the registry and is not easy to edit.

You could delete the key and start from scratch. To delete it, go to the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and navigate to registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail and delete Recently Used Addresses.

Create a system restore point before making the deletion, just in case you have problems.
