As they say Liverpool is full of comedians But last night on the local news They featured a Guy by the name of Stevie Riks from Chester who they said has been viewed "a Bit" on Google Video and I missed it  @ Me

If I read that correctly, then FYI Chester does come under the Umbrella of BBC North-West the Midlands BBC area also covers it though as a fringe area
Easiest way of checking I find is to see what Football teams feature in the Local News
Question: Did this many years ago for fun .. is it still possible to tune the Sky digiboxes to pick up Other UK regional Programmes?

No You are right
On the same subject (don't know about your area)
Wigan comes under Greater Manchester Yet many of the People say its still in Lancashire Ditto Bolton Bury Rochdale and Oldham even some businesses say the same in their Ads They still write Wigan Lancs ect., and the mail gets there with no bother. Good for them!
Make for a good topic on another forum how many different regions do you come under locally .If you work the Numbers out for it(for your town) then the same for the nearest town , you will get a big shock 
Its really a huge tangle ....Only respite on the UK Mainland I think is to live in the Far North of Scotland away from the Conurbations (sp?)

I don't know where this Lancashire thing came from, they used to say my home town was in Lancashire, when in fact it always fell under Greater Manchester.
Oh and I know that Wigan falls under GM too, it's not Lancashire either, Preston on the other hand is.
The reason people still get their mail, that will be due to the postal code, more than likely.

The Postcode overlap into other counties is a very good example of the subject
Example Ormskirk(Lancs) is Treated as a Liverpool Code!
And Southport is Tugged all over the Place Between the Liverpool,Sefton and Lancashire (Preston) Health Authorities  (My Sister works in an Admin Job for them)
Even our Phone code overlaps into the GM and Merseyside areas!
And I have just scratched the surface
