I like GU, use it monthly for a good old clear out. Remind me please, remove earlier version or install over the top? Can't see a mention on Glary website.

Thanks Ray.

Glary Utilities is featured as the Practical Explorer in the latest issue of Web User.

Thanks to Ray for drawing our attention to this excellent program in the first place.

I clicked on check for updates but but was only offered the same 2.4 download.

Any ideas, OS is Vista Premium,I used ourstanley's link to download.

Same happened here. Thought something odd after install, followed the initial link and Glary had sent me on to Download.com and did not notice I was downloading 2.4. Should have checked.

Second link gave me the correct version. All's well now.

Sorry about that chaps I'll make it clearer next time. I used the Download Mirror below the link that uses download.com but I never noticed download.com had not been updated and still hasn't at the time of this post.

Nowt's a bother Ray, no problem, pleased you keep us up to date. The odd bit was when Glary did not suggest a restart, that puzzled me. I should have checked what Download.com was giving me anyway.

Yes it does but if you don't want to see the pop-up right click the icon, select Settings | General tab and remove the checkmark from Show balloon tips when minimize to tray. Glary Utilities can also be stopped from running at Windows startup. I hope this is the same settings as my Pro Edition which I downloaded from Giveaway of the Day way back when.

Thanks again,Do you know of any tutorial or write up's for GU.

Something similar to Blackspears Extra Settings for Nod32.

Or is it best left at default.

I've used it with the default settings and have never had a problem, then again I used to run CCleaner without backups. I used to check what it was cleaning in the registry but I don't bother now although I don't recommend everybody should.

I too have this application (Glary utilities)installed but have a small problem in that when using the registry cleaner bit I have to install one of my other appplications after using it - is there somewhere in the GU application that I can set it to ignore certain applications?

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum but on seeing the topic I had to ask....

Thanks

When you run a scan highlight the entry you want to set to ignore and select Ignore you can view ignored applications Menu | Settings | Ignore List
