I'm on XP and the wife has just had a Vista laptop. Sure enough the memory stick I bought is recognised by XP but not Vista, and she needed her Word Docs. and stuff moved over - hardly worth burning a disc for.
On a whim I tried her MP3 player and moved it all onto there, and then over to hers as XP an Vista both recognised it.
Obviously not a permanent solution, but useful when in need!
