I bought April's 'Digital Photo' camera mag because I fancied the CD included. When I try to load it I get a yellow bar saying - Additional Plugins required to display.... - and at the right-hand edge- Install missing plugins. After clicking I have a blue-box message saying - No suitable plugins were found.
Help would be much appreciated. .

Does it give you a clue as to which plugin it's looking for? My guess is Flash but there should be a Firefox window, perhaps hidden behind the CD introduction menu that should tell you what it's looking for. If not, have a look at the CD contents, in particular the file suffixes to see what's loading.

Thanks Greysts. It says on the CD itself that it is designed for IE. Perhaps this screen-print will explain better.
Even if I don't open Firefox, but try to begin in IE7, Firefox seems to insist on opening as soon as I insert the disc.

Unfortunately that screen print is too small for me to read properly. Can you make it a bit bigger.
I would guess that you've got Firefox to be set as your default browser and the CD is trying to load an HTML file when it first starts. Again guess work but you've probably got the default reader for HTML files to be Firefox. You could try temporarily changing the default reader for HTM and HTML files in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types to Internet Explorer and see what happens.

Absolutely sure you are right Greysts. My default browser IS Firefox. We are away baby-sitting at the moment and I'm not on my own machine. But when I get home tomorrow I will temporarily change it to IE7. Here is a full screen version of the larger screen print you asked for. The smaller version was so as not to breach our sensible 'board' rules.

I can see the problem now. That CD is trying to play a video and Firefox can't find a MIME type to play video/x-msvideo. You could try this one which might fix the problem.

Hi Greysts. The default browser was the problem. I have changed my default to Internet Explorer and will leave it so while I finish reading the CD.
Easy solution - the trick was finding it ! Thanks. cheers G .
