About three weeks ago I had an email from Orange telling my that they were going to make some changes to the broadband service they provide me with. Last week another email telling me that the changes had been made and that my line is active at a speed of up to 6.5meg, and that I could upgrade to 5.5meg (yes thats right a slower speed)if I wanted. Since then I have had problems not only connecting but when I am able to connect a long wait for web pages to load. I have now given up on Orange, the help line was no help at all, so I have now got a MAC code from them and am looking to change to Plusnet option 2. Has anyone else had any similar problems?
Although I had a poor service from Orange, I will see it from their POV.
What would've happened is because your line had been installed with LLU it would've took a few days for it to settle down, while they were testing your line to see the max speeds it could handle.
When I was a customer of theirs and they implemented an 8mb connection on my line at my old address, it turned out that whilst they were testing the line, I lost 10 days worth of connection, after writing to them explaining my frustrations they refunded me the lost days.
