Hi,
Is anyone familiar with the Samsung A10 notebook? I have one that I just use for Word documents as it is too slow for anything else. It has a very small amount of memory (256 MB) which I would like to increase.
Can anyone familiar with this machine tell me how to get at the slots for memory modules? I was told that one can undo a flap on the under side and that this will expose the memory slots but of the two flaps underneath, one gives access to the hard disc and the other to the cooling fan.
It just happens that I have access to a second machine that is minus its hard disc and I had intended to take the memory module from that - if I can get at it!
Samsung decline to offer any assistance and say that I should take it to one of their agents but, frankly, it is not worth spending any money on, so I want to do the job myself. There is no information, that I have been able to find, on the internet

Many thanks for the links Ray, although the item refers to a Toshiba A10 and mine is a Samsung A10 and the pictures of the Toshiba do not resemble the Samsung, I think that I have enough info to go on now. It seems that I will have to remove the keyboard and that is the main thing to know (I hope), so I can "feel my way" to getting the keyboard out and hopefully the memory slots will be just underneath
Thanks again,
Chris

You probably won't have to remove the keyboard. The existing RAM will be behind a small panel underneath. It's often marked with a tiny sort of picture of RAM next to it.
Open the flap and there will probably be a spare slot next to the one that's in use now.

OK OK I can't go any faster! aaaaaaaaaaaagh!

Thanks for the suggestion RitchieP. On the underneath of the notebook there are only 2 removable flaps. one is for the HD and the other is for getting at the cooling fan. There are also two deep holes with screws at the bottom. So far, I have only got round to removing the flaps and the HD as I have been taking my dog, who was involved in an accident, on long journeys to hydrotherapy sessions. However, the HD is sited immediately above the floppy drive so I doubt if the memory slots will be under the floppy drive although I have nothing to lose by taking that out as well.
