Is anyone else having problems with AOL's new welcome screen? My Packard Bell laptop running Windows XP just doesn't want to know. I need to scroll down around a dozen screens worth to see everything on the one page, no pictures are displayed, the tabs are missing and, worse of all, clicking on any of the links produces a new window with nothing in it.
AOL's suggestions have all been useless, they finally suggested ending all but a small handfull of processes to try and identify the problem.
I have the same problem whether I connect via Internet Explorer or via the AOL V9 software running on the laptop.
Any assistance will be gratefully received!

Quite a bit there The AOL Home page is Normally pretty stable
And it sounds like a Window setting Issue also a Java Problem
Window first and you'll have to Keep returning to try different combinations OK 1) Look at the very top of the Screen on the AOL browser And You'll see the Link called Window
2) Click on it for the Menu.. the Central box has 3 options on it 2 say Remember Window size ans Position the Last says Forget the Size and Position
3) Next Close All the Windows in the Browser (Shift+F2) Disable the Useless AOL Companion and autostart in the Menu Next to the Clock
4)The Maim AOL Window is only Minimised Open that again and make it fit within the Frame of the Browser by dragging it on the Corner.and sides 4A) Its best doing this while connected 5) Next return to the Window setting and Select the 3rd Option DO NOT remember Windows Size and Position Then Log off and restart the Computer Log in again... Any Change Now? If it still Happens Choose the Top setting "remember Window Size only" also see if the Cascade setting works if not then the Tile Windows option works. ONLY Go Here if the Other suggestions Have no effect OK?
Moving on the The Blank Pics a Java Update is always Helpful Right Click on the Triangular AOL Icon and select One-Click fixes and an Internet Explorer Page will open with a very long list of Buttons for Fixing Lots of AOL: and Some IE Browser issues
Scroll down the List until you come to the section Marked "Internet"
I want you to Click on these 4 Buttons in this order then Press the small Fix it for Me button to the right Should not take too long
1)Enable Cookies and Active Scripting This One-Click Fix makes adjustments to Internet Explorer security setting, enabling cookies and Active scripting. This allows you to access AOL and other Web sites.
20Enable Sun Java in IE This One-Click Fix enables Sun Java in Internet Explorer to allow you to use the interactive content on some Web sites
3)Turn on Sun Java Automatic Update This One-Click Fix sets your computer to download and install Sun Java updates automatically, so that you always have the latest Java releases. This may help if you are having trouble viewing Java-based Web pages.
4)Turn on TopSpeed™ System Service This One-Click Fix turns on your TopSpeed system service. This will make TopSpeed capability available for an enhanced browsing experience.
There are several other things you can try out in the section but those above are the critical settings
Also visit www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ and see if you have the Latest version 9,0,115,0 ?
If the Number is different click on the "Player Download Center" Libk and Click on the Big icon for an Update only a few seconds on Broadband.
Looks a lot, but should take you no more than 10 minutes to complete
