Try one of those cleaning CDs/DVDs. Always worth having one about as a bit of dust on the laser can cause skipping, but it may be that it is on the way out and needs replacing.

I had one where the drawer sticks. Takes a few choice presses or a paperclip. Still can get it to work, but you can pick one up for £20/30 and change it fairly easy.
