Windows xp pro updates

I have recently had to reformat my hard drive .I installed all the updates from microsoft including SP1.
I want to install SP2 but i seem to be having some bother with the downloading.I get to the page where it's checking for updates but thats about it.It doesn't freeze as the bars are moving across to search but it doesn't continue to the update page.
Can anyone help?

Thanks for the help.Sorry i haven't gotten back to you before now but had major bugs on my system.I seem to have got rid of them now and am downloading SP2 as i type.
