Hi all..

I would be very greatful if anyone could put me in the right direction of building a web page

i know i need the following: domain name

But how do i make one ??

Have a look at a few Webhosters - I started out without a clue and tried 1and1.

You pick a .co.uk name or .com and pay the yearly fee to secure it. Even on their beginner package you can use their Website Builder software.

It ain't easy, but it starts to become second nature. Started one last year and already making money off sales (that's cos we use it for business).

Good luck - but there are bound to be some better (and more knowledgable) users on here that can help further.

All I would add at this point is; keep your domain registrar and your hosting separate, don't get locked in with one company. I'd recommend Telivo for domain purchasing/registering only - as for hosting, shop around.

Thanks. I did not know they could be seperate, domain name and web hosting.
I am having difficulty transferring my domain name/hosting package from Lycos to Streamline.net. I have paid nominet to transfer the domain which they say they have done. But on my Streamline control panel, it still says "not registered.
