How to sort Administrator User Profile error

Dear All
Please can someone help me as I cannot use my laptop at present
I am receiving the error "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" - This is on the only Administrator account. Guest Account logs on OK
My machine uses Windows Home Vista Premium (OEM version)
I was literally using it 20 mins before I got this error

I've seen this error referred to quite a lot in Google but I cannot find a step by step solution for its resolution.

This sounds like your problem to me,but you must read it carefully to see that all your symptoms are the same.Step by step fix instructions.

Thank you for your thoughts but this article refers to logging on with a temporary account and getting the error - my error is with the main and only administrator account ?
