When is Comp. running ready for use
      #385674 - Fri Feb 22 2008 01:23 PM

Is there any way an indicator showing by means of a tick or a simple 'use computer now', could be shown after comp. has gone through the motions of starting and is ready for use?. This may seem daft but my Wife has trouble waiting on all startup items to complete, as on her laptop the Vista circle vanishes now and again and only shows the cursor arrow. She is then left guessing when she can proceed.
I have never thought about this before but it does seem a reasonable idea.

When I had an old PC i used to wait for the light that you see flashing or nearly permanently lit when the HDD is working hard stop. Although some programs may be searching for updates at start up and the PC will be ready for use before this

Yes, I don't have any prob. myself but my wife has less understanding. Like lots of others she thinks that you switch on and a min. later it should be should be ready to go. We all at times are impatient and an idea like this would save a lot of time and frustration, (especially when you have to run up and down stairs to rectify), I would imagine. Cheers
