Does my psu have to be in my case

Hi iam about to embark on building a pc out of the case and was wondering if the PSU has to be in the case ie for grounding/earth ?
Any help

It's alright for testing purposes but why would you consider not having it permanently in the case?

Without putting too much thought into it, here are some reasons for not having it in the case:
1. The power connections would not reach the components.
2. It is probably more of a fire hazard.
3. It’s not aesthetically pleasing.
