What reason did they give you when they said you would be better of with a hub?

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

I asked them if there was a alternative to my modem router and that was their reply or is just that there have a offer at the moment which they are giving away a hub worth £90 quid !?.

Im with BT and replaced my Voyager 220 ages ago with a Home Hub.
In my opinion you are better of with the Hub especially if you want to go wireless. Im running two computers via wireless and two via cable with no problems. The Hub Has a built in firewall and is more secure than the 220.
Rather than renew your contract with BT to get the Home Hub do like I did and purchase it from elsewhere. (I bought mine brand new of EBay for £10)
Hope that helps.

I only have my desktop PC you say the hub has a built in firewall but i have bull guard firewall so i guess you have to get rid of one of them.

No. The Hub has a hardware firewall and Bulldog is a software firewall so your getting double the protection.
