Windows Vista Explorer.exe
      #384771 - Sat Feb 16 2008 08:01 PM

I'm having a problem with the explorer.exe on my computer. Any time I open something it closes down and opens back up. I can't open things like My Computer because they're part of explorer.exe and they just shut down as soon as I open them. I'm guessing it's because of some file I may have downloaded but I have no clue as to exactly what the problem is. Can anybody help?

Have you tried a Restore, back to before this started happening?

How would I do that? I don't have any reboot discs or anything. But anyways, this message just popped up out of nowhere... "Error in C:\Users\Nyne\AppData\Local\Temp\qspwaxtm.dll
Missing entry:run"

Any ideas?

Hi there....Not sure if this will help any...but I have the same problem and it's caused by a third party browser extension...It took me a while to discover this but all you need to do is make sure the box is ''Unticked''...you can always click it back on again if you need to.Mine is caused by a program that signs me automatically called SSO.....When you open the explorer page, before opening a new page go to Tools..Internet options....Advanced...scroll down to Browsing and untick the ''Enable third part browsing extensions''...if it's ticked that is....It might not be that but give it a try anyway..

Also you appear to be the only person on the planet with this dll file:
qspwaxtm.dll
I suggest deleting it.

Joe.

That's what it is. I found all of these .dll files in a temp folder of mine. But the thing is it won't let me delete them because it says they are in use, so how do I go about doing this?

Use safe mode

If that doesn't work post a Hijackthis log. Follow the instructions here

In Vista you may have to disable U.A.C.
Instructions here:

I'm not sure how to get into safe mode on vista. F8 at the start-up doesn't work, and it doesn't show any other options for safe mode.
