I have a 3 week old laptop with preinstalled Vista Home Premium. The recent auto update from Windows did not install (I think) as it was on battery and it must have shut down before completion. When I have switched on the laptop this morning I get the message Configuring updates: Stage 3 of 3 - 0% cokmplete. Do not turn off your computer. This stays on for about 2 or 3 minutes then I get the message Windows is shutting down. It shuts down and reboots to the same message - it has done this for the past couple of hours. I have tried starting in safe mode but it still goes to the Configuring Updates page. Help - what can I do??
