saving windows updates
      #384457 - Thu Feb 14 2008 10:00 PM

Hi all

I have a new computer coming next week to replace the old one and will be installing XP pro onto it.

my xp disk is sp2 but will I have to download all the updates from then to get back up to date or can I copy them from the old computer ?

I know that it is possible to copy the entire hard drive but after several years use I could do with a fresh start.

many thanks

pete

Provided you're on broadband I'd go for the fresh updates from the M$ site rather than possibly copying a corrupted file from the old machine. Some of the latest updates may also be better than those offered several years ago.
