Blue Screen Of Death

Hi,

The dreaded blue screen for the second time in 2 months suggesting a possible hardware problem. The second time I was watching Utube at the time, closed the computer down with the button and rebutted and received this message

The system has recovered from a serious error.

Erro Report:

Any ideas anybody?

Check Event Viewer for errors or warnings around the time it happened.

Also, chnage the settings so it stops at the blue screen and post the stop code, something like 0X000008E:

Right-click My Computer > Properties.

Click the Advanced tab, then the Settings button under Startup and recovery.

Then remove the tick nect to "Restart" under System failure.

That error (FE) is probably a driver problem and most likely a USB one.

What external USB devices do you have?

I have an Epson D88 Printer, DSL Modem, Also use the USB's for 2 cameras and an MP4 player.

If it does not restart after the blue screen what do I need to do to restart. Also where will it post the error code?

I suggest you go to Device Manager and uninstall the cameras and MP4 player. Do them one at a time, over a period of a week or two. Leave a day or two before reinstalling a device, which may well identify the culprit, i.e. you remove a camera and no further blue screen errors occur.
