working locally with apache
      #383120 - Wed Feb 06 2008 12:51 PM

OK, forgive me, I'm blonde and female<G>

I need an extremely basic and simple (step 1 do this, step 2 do that) guide to help me set up working locally.

For instance... I have instructions that start "Install to http://localhost/yourfolder/" and I'm even stuck on that!!

I have downloaded and installed xampp, it tells me it's working ok. So now what?

TIA!

Tia here is a good article for installing Apache on windows (assuming you are using XP) using the windows msi. From my experience of installing Apache I would just say take your time and be patient. Like any open source software it's always a bit short on help but is very reliable! I've been running version 2.0 (recommended) on xp and I run it on port 8080 because I use IIS now and again also.
