hi, having a very odd problem with my dvd rewiter, it is a pioneer, it used to put the camcorder footage to dvd, but not all i get is burn process failed, no matter what disc i use, i have tried daewoo + and -, tdk + and - ricoh, also turned down the write speed, but also when i try to make a vcd instead, it says burn complete, but there is nothing on the disc, is my drive on its way out, help, i have a lot of offroad footage, and friends waiting for discs,

Presumably WinXP, if so, download CD-DVD-FIX from here http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_cd_dvd_fix.htm
If it's Vista, try this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us

The laser could be on the way out.
Try uninstalling/reinstalling it, i.e. right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager > DVD drive, right-click Properties and uninstall it. Reboot and Windows will reinstall it.
