Travelman , click on start > my computer > right click on removable disk > properties > auto play tab. In the drop down box choose pictures , then place a tick in the box beside "prompt me each time to choose an action" > apply > OK.

Hi Fifeflyer Thanks for your reply but unfortunately My Computer is not displayed in the Start List. I have however tried another way that was to open My Computer from Desktop select the drives from the Devices and Removable Storage section right click to find Properties then click message "prompt me each time to choose a action". then Apply and Close. Whether this will work or if you think I still need to make adjustments I would appreciate your comments and thanks for directing me. Update Ps I have now tried the new alterations but still not seen the Open with box. I can manage by going to My computers choosing the drive to open the camera but seems a long way round as before when I connected a camera it auotmacticily showed the open with box? Cheers
cheers

Sounds like your using the "classic" start menu , i'm using the "category" one.

Did you make sure "pictures" was selected in the drop down box ?? If you still can't get it......choose select an "action to perform" , "pictures" from the drop down list , and highlight "slide show" > apply > OK. See if that works. If it does try and set it again for "prompt me each time to choose an action"

Further to Fife's advice, try downloading & running the . . . >> 'Autoplay Repair Wizard' << . . .
