Hello all, I have just set my PC up for wireless broadband in my house. I have always a farly decent connection on hardwire setup. Im using a USB dongle. I power up my PC and the icon on the toolbar just "Bounces"between connect no connection. (red x on the icon)i right click on icon on toolbar, OPEN NETWORK CONNECTIONS then click on connection then select CHANGE SETTINGS ON THIS CONNECTION click on wireless network tabs and tick USE WINDOWS FOR NETWORK CONNECTION click OK. Whallop, network connects happy days!!! as i surf the net sometimes after random ammount of time it just stops, the connection is still there but will not display any pages. Please help! I need to know is there a way i can set up PC so that it just connects as power up and i dont need to keep doing above remedy. I installed all the USB driver and Livebox correctley (i think!!)so why does windows hate the connection so much?? and not just connect and stay connected. When net is up it surfs away no problems so its all there, i just need to get my PC to accept the network and work without the faffing around everytime i use it. Im on Windows XP. Thanks in advance C
You USB dongle software may still be trying to manage the connection as well as Windows and they are conflicting. If anything, it usually works better by using the software that comes with the device and turning off Windows own WZC in the services menu.
