Sky Broadband, XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii
      #382140 - Wed Jan 30 2008 02:36 PM

Any of you guys help somebody not very experienced in this old Wi-Fi thing! I have Sky Broadband, which, at a push, performs to my needs.(8Mb) -I use a Netgear Modem and a Belkin 54Mbps connection. I also have an Xbox 360 which I use an Ethernet cable (the PC is upstairs , Xbox downstairs) directly from the router into the Xbox -this works fine but am unable to use the internet at the same time?? (for example if I was downloading something on the PC, left it and went on the Xbox, I would have to switch the PC off - I can cope with that but having recently purchased a Wii, there is a function for a wireless connection to the internet which I have set up - however every time I go back on the PC, the internet is very very slow and only by turning the modem off and back on, will I get a decent speed (by decent I mean actually loading a page!) – I’m trying to establish whether this is to be expected and it’s the way it has to be or if there is anything that I can change to stop me getting frustrated about trundling downstairs and switching a modem on and off to get connected. Thanks in advance

hello
only thing i can think that could be would be if you have the router connected to an extension from the phone line or from the phone line to the router that would cause that problem. of even try changing the micro-filter that might do the trick. let me know and i can think of something else
