Hi. I have a relative who has just come back from New Zealand with a digital camera full of photos. After a quick browse they amounted to 170! I was wondering if it is really practical to print off 170 photos? -especially as he wants copies for his mates! Could I just burn them to a DVD-RW for them instead and they can pick and choose which ones they want? I have a number of options on the laptop-the Kodak Easyshare software that came with the camera,HP Photosmart Essential that came with the printer,Roxio 9,or the Windows Vista Photo Gallery. Any advise for this newbie would be much appreciated.

hi my option would be to burn them to disc first so you don't lose them you could always put them on a couple of discs then get your mates to choose what pics they want and if they want all 170 take your memory card out the camera to boots think they are cheapest then get machine to print them i would no print 170 pics at home as it will take a lot of ink plus its a expensive way to do it <<<<<<<<<<<<that's my opinion see what the others think

By far the cheapest option if he really wants his photos printed is to go to someone like Photobox. 170 photos will cost him £16.58 plus P&P of £1.50. They have a 24 hour turn round time and for that price you couldn't even buy the glossy paper. I've used them on several occasions and their service is excellent.

Thanks for the link Spencer. It will be of great benefit for the laddo as he's also now doing some photography at university. I've passed your link to him and he wants to thank you as well. He will be taking loads of photos this weekend and will now get them developed by Photobox. Great offer too - "we'll even give you 30 FREE prints just for joining."

Nope, it's from only 6p per photo, using the 24-hour service and from only 15p per photo using the 1-hour service

Personally, I would upload them to www.truprint.co.uk They can then select the ones they want and order them in whatever size they want. Also burn to a CD too :-)
