start menu
      #381846 - Mon Jan 28 2008 05:19 PM

hi there

this is really not a major problem just annoying,

you know in your start menu how it only shows programs that you have used recently (classic view) like the way ms office does, well my start menu has stopped doing this and just has a static list of programs etc.

i had a recent problem (trojan) that got sorted in the hijack this forum which (among other things) involved changing some of the settings in CCleaner could this be the problem, i have tried everything else that i can think of.

Before trying to suggest anything can you give us an idea what you've tried. I presume you've been in the "task bar and start menu properties" settings.

yes sorry

I have tried all of that, as well as search for help on the net including microsofts own site, among others (which as far as i could see were just copies of microsofts advice)

But go for it anything you want to suggest i will try it again maybe i missed something simple.

Try this. In CCleaner > windows tab > under the "advanced " options > untick "user assist history" .
