hi everyone. i have windows xp and windows automatic update which continuously asks me to install 3 or 4 updates which i agree to, however i am unable to install .NET framework 3.0 (KB932394). i don't even know if i need it. i have checked the windows help page but can make head nor tail of it. so my question is do i need it? if i do how do i install it? if i don't how do i get rid of these reminders? any help would be fantastic
thanks hkt

thanks fifeflyer for getting back to me. i didn't really have much luck manually downloading framework 3.0. i went over a previous post of yours from last sept, it was about hotfixes and updates. it was helpful and at least i have got rid of the reminders. i am trying so many things that i hardly know what is effective and what isn't. when i went into add/remove programs i clicked on show updates and .NET Framework is showing that it has been installed. so i am assuming that throughout all this it has finally been able to install. i'll let you know if this is not the case. thanks hkt

There will be a few versions of .NET in add/remove and if 3.0 is one of them then that's you. Although version 3.0 isn't a critical update at the moment , it will be required some time in the future.
What is .NET Framework.......may give you an idea what it does , or there again it may complicate things even further

Hi,
Just thought I would tell you that I was having major problems with my PC going very slow almost to a stop, this must have been detected by MS during the scan for required updates and offered the Net Framework update, after installing everything went back to normal.
Out of the many files in the update there was about six which allotted memory to the tasks being carried out which I assumed was my initial problem, anyway everything is fine now.
