transferring web vids into mp4 files

I reformatted my hard drive recently and have lost the software that I was using to transfer web videos so that I could have them on my mobile.
Can anybody help me with free software please.

I think Aplus Video to iPod Converter is the best solution for Convert any Video into your iPod,iPhone, you shall also try Nero's latest version if you have.
