I'd appreciate some advise please, after a catalogue of problem's in the last 6 month's with one thing or another, the pc had been running really well, up until now that is, 3 time's Ive got a blue screen saying -:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage if this it the 1st time you've seen this restart windows, stop error screen restart you computer.
then at the bottom of the screen it say's-:
technical information
stop 0x0000000A (0X0100100D,0x00000002,0x0000000G,0x804DBC95
Beginning dump of physical memory.
I know Ive missed a couple of sentences out, but has anyone any idea what this problem could be??, for anyone who does'nt know me, I have a 5 year old comp, its windows XP, I have'nt added anything new at all in a long time, I'd much appreciate anyone help with this thankyou.

The error code suggests a device driver is at fault. Have you had any downloads from Microsoft recently that included updated drivers? Have you updated any driver files yourself?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

Thanks for your kind responce, I've checked the last few definition's from microsoft, all the latest one's are for window's defender, but there are failed downloads to, which are for window's toolbar, there are 5 failed download's, but none of them suggest a device driver!, I have'nt updated anything either... how do I go about fixing the problem??, I will also have to look into why the updates are not downloading to, could that pose the problem also??.
Thanyou again

Does the original error message contain the words 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' ?
If it does their is a highly technical document here from Microsoft that gives detailed trouble shooting tips but it's not an easy read.
The only other thing I can find out on the net is the possibility that one of your RAM chips is breaking down.

Let's wait for the next occurrence and then give us the full error message.
