I am hoping someone can help me.....I am fairly compatable with computers and have usually been able to troubleshoot on my own but.....I am completely stumped and frustrated right now!!!!
I am pretty sure I have some unwanted pop up ad or trojan-ware. I am getting an imposter "windows" window ""System error! - Your computer was infected by unknown trojan. It's dangerous for your system (critical files can be lost)! Click OK to download the antispyware program to clean your system! (Recommended)
I ran avg antispyware and avg7.5 free which both detected and healed a few infections. The PROBLEM I am having is I am unable to restore my computer to any date (I have tried about 20 different ones) and have even started in safe mode then restarted from there. Right now I am copying all my personal photos from the computer to CD preparing for the worst. Can anyone help me fix this???

I would suggest you have a look at this, follow the instructions contained therein and post your own log in the HJT thread, NOT this one. The symptoms you describe are quite common and our experts should be able to sort you out. Be patient - we've got a lot of patients but very few doctors!
