Can I ask what the shaded items denote, there are some done in blocks and individually ? I appreciate Paul Lomax is an Admin Bob, but why are his items regardless of date in one block at the start?

Not sure what you mean by 'shaded'...

Because they are 'sticky' threads ( ) in that they have been pinned above all other threads.

Ok then, some are grey and some are white, but in some sections there are blocks of items that are white and and some shaded. Obviously every second one can be shaded to differentiate between sections but others are multiples, (at least on my screen). Again ok, alright Paul Lomax can have sticky threads, but why are they sticky, also again why altogether at the beginning? Do not get me wrong I am not making an issue out of this - just interested !

I don't understand this 'shaded' thing either. The only thing I can think of is that the threads in different colours indicate that you haven't clicked on them and read them all.
As to why are they at the top of the list, that's because they are more important than anything else in that particular forum and should be read by people who need more information about how to use the forum.

Not everyone sees 'shading', very much depends which stylesheet they have selected. i.e. I have 'white' which doesn't show shading at all.

Thanks for all replies, I respect all you guys say and do not want this to get out of hand. I have not selected any shading so I suppose I've got what I've got, also it does not appear that it darkens to show that item has been read. Anyway I'll live with it thanks. Cauldbum

Changing your style sheet will get rid of this minor issue.
