new xp install and new drive volumes

ihaveputa new motherbourd bundle and 500gig sata hard drive in my box but windows xp pro (new install)only sees 127gig of it! gives me problems with puttng the data from old harddrives on it. what do i do?

A few questions :-

1. Are you installing the SP2 version of XP?

2. Does that motherboard support that size HDD, i.e. may need a BIOS update?

3. Do you have any unallocated space in Disk Managenment (right-click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management)?

Lots of unallocated space in disc manager when xp was installed not whole disc was formatted so now it is cheers!
