I have a Netgear DG834PN ISDN router and it works flawlessly with all my wireless gadgets, 360, Wii, PC (XP), Laptop(XP) but with my new works laptop (Vista) the latop will not connect to my wireless network without 1st power cycling the router then the laptop connects fine.
I have to power cycle every time I wish to connect this new Dell (Vista) laptop.
Anybody got any ideas why?

Here are a few things to try :-
1. Go to the router set up page (192.168.n.n) your manual will tell you the value of n and change the channel number by a factor of 6, up or down.
2. Remove and reinstall the wireless adapter, i.e. right-click Computer > Properties > Device Manager, expand the Network section and right-click > Uninstall the adapter. Reboot and let Vista reinstall it.
3. If it’s still not connecting then delete and recreate the wireless connection, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Networks in the left pane and right-click the one you want to remove (or you could rename it). Now recreate it, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Set up a Connection or Network (in the left pane) > Manually Connect > Next. Type in the Network name (SSID), select Security type and type in the WEP/WPA key (more success is achieved if you type the key in hexadecimal rather than as ASCII characters). You may also want to tick ‘Start this connection automatically’ and ‘Connect even if the network……‘ > Next. Lastly click ‘Connect to‘ and you should connect to the new network.
